Althwat Company
Althwat Company for General Trading was founded in 1958 by the late Haj Abdul Amir Al-Saadi , when he opened the first store for trading sanitary and construction materials on Al-Rasheed Street – Bab Al-Agha Market .
In 1971, the business moved to Al-Kifah Street, and the company became an agent for both the General Company for Trading Construction Materials and the General Company for Trading Iron and Wood.
Since the 1970s, the founder’s sons joined the business, led by Hussein Abdul Amir and his brother Ali Abdul Amir, who played a pivotal role in expanding the business. By the late 1970s and early 1980s, the company expanded into foreign trade by importing from Britain, Japan, Korea, India, Sweden, Czechoslovakia, Turkey, and Kuwait.
